How we do this at the Mount:

GOAL:        TO BE A HEALTHY CHURCH BODY
VALUES:    8 VALUES (“Quality Characteristics”) evident in each individual ministry

MISSION:    Develop PURPOSE in relationship to the values

GOAL (PRIORITIZE it) – to be a healthy BODY OF CHRIST.

A healthy church body as diagnosed by 8 quality characteristics seen in our vision. Doing what our Lord wants us to do. The goal

(priorities) of Christ for His Body: Great Commission – Matt 28. 19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the

name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Great Commandment – Mark 12.30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all

your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than

            these.”

VALUES (PURSUE it) –

Gift-Oriented Ministry

Our Vision:

Mount Olivet’s vision is to Bring the Life and Ministry of God to the Church and to the World.

This vision encapsulates Isaiah 61, and our “great commitment to the great commission and the great commandment, resulting in a great church.

Isaiah 61:1-3    The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,  and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
